El borrador del primer capítulo de Urusei Yatsura se volvió a dibujar 7-8 veces y el que quedó al final tenía a Sakuranbo. El editor a cargo me dijo que sería mejor que Ataru tuviere una conversación con alguien a que estuviese solo, y lo hice. Pensé en que sería bueno que fuera un monje sombrío. Su nombre es un juego de palabras y me sorprendió que fuera popular.
