 Rumiko Takahashi en su cuenta de Twitter hizo el siguiente comentario acerca del personaje Bankotsu:

Dado que era el de los Siete Guerreros mi concepto era "joven y atractivo". Luego que se sintiera tan atemorizante como fuera posible. Que pareciera que te cortaría el cuello en vez de saludarte. No había trenzas en el mundo de Inuyasha desde Hiten. Además se volvió familiar verla moverse en las escenas de acción. Bankotsu era realmente un bárbaro. La voz de Kusao-san fue la mejor de todas.

Nota: Hay un juego de palabras cuando dice "Bankotsu era realmente un bárbaro", porque el primer kanji del nombre de Bankotsu significa "Bárbaro".
